MICHAEL SIMPSON

MICHAEL SIMPSON

He defeated distance and sentiment
and some other things beyond human control.
His heart is spacious enough to contain the world,
wherever you are his light shall find you.
He is the superordinary man of word
that appears to us like an ordinary man.
An encounter with him is enough
to keep one going in the adventurous Word Land.

For example, he held a West African me tightly,
I mean a South African him.
His passion rules over so many realms,
he is one man to remain.

He choses a mortal form to help humanity,
he is truly an immortal and that stands.
From here and now on, his name shall occur and reoccur
in history of word.
His praise cannot be sang, his might you cannot imagine,
his tentacles wraps the Earth mildly and passionately.

May the Almighty bless his mortality with abundancy,
the least he could get for his affection for humanity.
By name, Michael Simpson, may the POET'S INK never ever dwindle.

A few more people like him in the world is needed that word may weigh more.

BUSINESS OF FAITH

BUSINESS OF FAITH

The good men knew they shall leave someday
They work to make it a heavy moment
Heavy enough to sit in history
But a pain for them and the kingdom
Is that the prophecies hold that
The destination of the world is the end

The proofs are evident
The Ayats cannot be doubted
In bountiful mercies of Allah
Holding up the pillars of faith
As simple as they are
Compared to worldly self harms
That we all prefer

Doing good, a thing to make humanity better
Piety and submission on the recipe of humility
Incorporated in all of these is ease
And of course, assurance of a blissful hereafter
Almost all you need to achieve
Is a blissful immortal life
In the hereafter of forever

If I invest my few years on Earth in the business of faith
And you roll around here in hard pleasure
And I get longer decades of enjoyment
And your reward is endless centuries in severe pain
Who lost and who gained?

YOUNG MAN

YOUNG MAN

My name is Young Man
Sometimes ago I was smaller
Now, I am stout
If you wish, you may spell out the differences
I can't see my own heart
But I can and will read it
Are you one of those
That call me Nothing
While I am Young Man
I've seen and I'm seeing
Even you have not and cannot see everything
Grossly,
Tell me your superiority over me
The something that you bear
Was nothing and no more Young Man
I won't say I'm better anyway

Yes, this is stout Young Man
Hello Mr Old Man
You know what I don't
Really yes and maybe true
When my name changes too
What if I saw a wider gamut
I listen to you Old Man
But tell me the rules
You never even got to it
Whatever we fill the box with
You and I ain't taking a step beyond terminal
Strength and weakness
Beginning and end
All must phenomena
In the story and all through
To a boundary that no one shall ever transgress

Am I even human
No, I am Young Man
And what is Young Man
Indefinite potential
Infinite prowess
The universe
And all of space is not enough
Only time is the boundary
It will never die

TROUBLED

TROUBLED SEARCHER

The saying of my people
Reality that lasts
Till the end of time
They said
"Long life or no worries, you have to choose one"
See what man made himself
What we craeted with our hands
Are the reasons we are lost
The cause of the move without direction
"O pe laye, oju re koni ribi, okan ni o fowomu"
One mystery that is immortal
Is that all the worries
All the questions
All the pain
And the gain so far
Did not bring out from darkness
The definition of life
Even the shortest life is troubled
But it never made a difference
"Eni waye ko raye, eni raye ko damo"
He who looks for life doesn't see it, he who sees it doesn't recognize it
Despite all the troubles
For the short and long lives
No one ever found it
